No ski vacation planned this year? That's no reason to let yourself down. So get motivated, get out your Kokko and organize a winter party. From decorations to marshmallows, here are our ideas for a memorable winter evening.
1 - We take care of the decor
To bring the outdoors back to life in winter, we've come up with some pretty lighting decorations to bring in the warmth. Place candles, lanterns and garlands all over the place. To create a more convivial atmosphere and concentrate the warmth, you can also install a small garden arbour to gather under.
We're also working on decorating the table with natural elements to give the impression of eating in the middle of nature around a campfire - well, in this case, around the Kokko. If you're short of inspiration, you can take a look at our eco-responsible decorating ideas for our holiday tables.
2 - Keeping warm
Kokko will be the star of the show. Both a symbol of conviviality and a means of keeping warm, you'll want to avoid setting up mushroom heaters or any other kind of energy-guzzling hot-air blowers, which have no place on this evening. Don't forget that the theme is winter, and you don't want to feel like you're in the tropics on a February evening!
Instead, place blankets and plaids on the seats and invite your guests to bring their après-skis, down jackets, gloves and hats. What a pleasure to be able to admire the stars in the middle of winter, stretched out on a deckchair and wrapped up in a thick blanket!
3 - We reinvent raclette, tartiflette and fondue at Kokko
Outdoor evenings mean generous, hearty dishes to keep the body going. And what would winter be without raclette, tartiflette or fondue? Emblems of the season, these dishes may be a little rich, but they're so good! Thanks to Kokko, you'll be able to impress your guests by preparing a tartiflette at smoked bacon.
Are you a raclette fan? Okay, but give it some character by smoking your cheese in the Kokko to give it an original taste. You can also turn it into a raclette pizza, make a flammekueche, or, to keep with the generosity of the cheese, prepare a smoked and roasted Camembert accompanied by potato and bacon skewers , or melt for a Mont-d'Or with onions and bacon. Yummy!
Don't forget fondue. It's an ideal dish for an aperitif dinner. Place a cast-iron pan on the grill of the Kokko to keep the cheese warm, and invite your guests to take turns dipping their bread into it.
Pair your dishes with a glass of mulled wine, and finish on a sweet note with flambéed bananas. flambéed bananas, caramelised pineapple, roasted mango or roast marshmallows for an American-style BBQ!
