How do I start the Kokko ceramic barbecue?
The Kokko ceramic barbecue is quick and easy to light.

Step 1
Open the lid of the Kokko, remove the stainless steel grate and place 3 to 4 sheets of newspaper folded into a ball on the black cast-iron plate at the bottom of the Kokko. You can add one or two firelighters for greater efficiency.

Step 2
Arrange your charcoal around the newspaper and firelighters. Light the newspaper with a match or gas lighter and let it burn for 40-60 seconds before closing the dome.

Step 3
Now close the lid and gently open the chimney and the hatch at the bottom of the Kokko. Thanks to ample air circulation, the coals will be ready in just a few minutes.

Step 4
Open the lid about 5 minutes after lighting and burning the firelighters. The charcoal starts to glow red, which means it's glowing, and cooking can begin!

Step 5
Use the stainless steel ash-puller to stir your coals and distribute them in the Kokko if necessary.

Step 6
You can now regulate the heat by limiting the flow of air through the chimney and/or the bottom hatch. You can also add more charcoal if necessary.
